18.05 : “Sharing the Gospel & Our Lives”
This is based upon Paul’s ministry method as found in 1 Thessalonians 2:8. Paul brings together two things: The message of the gospel, and the life of the messenger. This session will address, what does it mean to “share the gospel?” and what might it look like to share our lives?
25.05 : “God’s role & our role”
This session will dig deeper into the dynamics of conversion. We readily acknowledge that it is the Holy Spirit who does the convicting, but how does he do this? How does the Spirit bring regeneration, and what does that mean for us?
01.06 : “Thessalonica and Athens today”
Acts 17 serves has a wonderful example of how Paul remained faithful at proclaiming Jesus but by using different methods. In Thessalonica he dealt with those of a Jewish background and in Athens he dealt with those with no scriptural knowledge. This session will explore the fact that sometimes we’re having to go back to the beginning to fill in the blanks in peoples’ worldviews.
08.06 : What about awkward questions?
A large percentage of evangelism hesitancy is because of the cultural climate of pluralism and hot topics deeply ingrained within culture. Peter tells believers to “always be ready” to give a reason (apologetic) for the hope that is in us. This session will deal with trying to practically respond to questions.
15.06 : Spirit-Filled Church
We simply cannot forget the supernatural. This session will by and large survey the book of Acts to see what it actually looks like to be a faithful spirit-filled witness. We will see how the gifts of the Spirit can be used to show evidence of the kingdom at work, but it will also show that Spirit-filled does not mean “instant results”. Our people need a bigger grasp of ongoing faithfulness to withstand rejection and slander.
